Pastor Terrence E Brown know as “Terry” was born February 8, 1956 in the city of Akron, Ohio. He was raised mostly in the foster care system in Akron and Youngstown, Ohio. After serving 3 years in the Marines (1973-1976) and honorably discharged he rented an apartment in a high rise in Akron. It would be here in September of 1976 that he met a young lady named Denise Fryer at the bus stop as he was on his way to the unemployment office. They immediately became friends. Terry began to fall into depression during the holidays and the beginning of the year 1977 which reached the height of suicide intent. Then one day God spoke to him as he was very lonely and depressed in his 10th floor apartment saying, “GIVE ME A CHANCE.” Terry broke down crying just from the thought that somebody cared.
From that point Terry began to pray, read the bible, and listen to TV Ministries. It was watching these that he learned to fast and to send in tithes and offerings. This was good but he felt such a void because he was not saved; the revelation had not come yet.
People, Brotherhood, Worship Leader, Sunday School Teacher, and Junior Deacon. Then in 1983 Bro Brown was called to preach the Word of God and later became an Elder. As Bishop Gaiters would relocate in late August of 1989 to Columbus, Ohio to assist his father-in-law, he chose Elder Brown as his successor which took effect August 27, 1989. God has allowed the same favor given to Bishop Gaiters to carry over into Pastor Brown’s tenure of leadership for the good of Greater Apostolic Church of Christ. With love Pastor and Lady Brown serves God and His people.
